San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Highlights: 2 New Avengers Movies, MCU Phase 5, All The Big Trailers

San Diego Comic-Con 2022 is over and it was a enormous weekend of news and advances. The main news was absolute megatons of movie and tv show ads performed by Marvel during their main panel, which includes two new Avengers movies in the works. But there was more, much more.

Here’s a selection of highlights as we pick some of the coolest stuff to inject into your eyes straight from SDCC 2022. We’ll keep adding more as the panels roll out over the weekend.

Marvel Phase 5 Revealed

One of the most important news from the great Marvel Hall H panel: Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is approaching! Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ships Phase 4, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is officially the first Phase 5 movie.

There is a lot of newsworthy information in that single image. Perhaps the most important: the new Daredevil! Blade release date!

Marvel Announces Two New Avengers Movies

It seems that Marvel is trying to repeat the trick of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Marvel also announced that one, but two Avengers movies.

There’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both are part of Phase 6 of Marvel. Everyone just needs to relax and give us time to breathe this. Everything (ie Phases 4, 5 and 6) is already known as The Multiverse Saga.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

we have our first look at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Fortunately, unlike some trailers, we actually got to see this one!

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3

A Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Trailer 3 was shown, but only the people at the Marvel Hall H panel got to see it. The big news seems to be the focus on Rocket. The internet is already freaking out over the appearance of “Baby Rocket” in the trailer, which seems to suggest we’re getting a bit of Rocket’s backstory in the new movie.

She-Hulk: Lawyer

We have a new trailer for a show that we’re pretty excited about: She-Hulk: Lawyer.

The biggest thing that everyone seems to be very excited about right now is the appearance of Daredevil.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Before the big Marvel Hall H panel, we got to see an illustrated poster for the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Does this mean we can potentially get an early look at the movie today? Potentially. But this movie doesn’t come out until February of next year. Still, here’s hope!

A trailer was shown at the event, but sadly only people who attended the show got to see it. But look, this is so much fun.

The Sandman

Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s legendary fantasy comic series is set to arrive on August 5, and the streaming service ramped up the excitement by releasing a new trailer on Saturday.

Star Trek: Picard

A host of Star Trek: The Next Generation favorites will appear in the third and final season of Picard, which I have a trailer on Saturday. It will air on Paramount Plus in 2023.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

a trailer hinted at what the crew of the USS Cerritos will do in season 3 of the animated series, which premieres on Paramount Plus on August 25. We will also have a crossover episode in season 2 of the live-action show Strange New Worlds, which is expected to start in 2023.

Black Adam will bring DC’s anti-hero action to theaters on October 21 and a new trailer hinted at the moral choices Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character will face in the film.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Trailer

Chris Pine is a lute-playing, plan-making bard, Michelle Rodriguez is a barbarian, Regé-Jean Page from Bridgerton and The Gray Man is a warrior, Justice Smith is a mage, and Sophia Lillis is a shape-shifting druid. They pull off a heist in a fantasy adventure that looks like a lot of fun, complete with classic D&D creatures like dragons, displacer beasts, a mimic, an Owlbear, and Hugh Grant.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Clip

This hilarious Marvel cartoon series has an insane voice cast, announced at SDCC: Alison Brie, Daveed Diggs, Maya Hawke (from Stranger Things), Jennifer Hudson, Cobie Smulders, Craig Robinson, Indya Moore, May Calamawy (Moon Knight ), Method Man (!), Wesley Snipes (!!), and astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison (!!!). Laurence Fishburne also stars, and was also involved in creating the entire project. Coming in 2023 to Disney Channel and Disney Plus, the animated series sees the Diamond White star as Lunella Lafayette, a 13-year-old super genius who teams up with, well, a dinosaur.

Gotham Knights Batgirl Trailer

Batman Gotham Knights Spin-Off Game Heads To PS5, Xbox Series X And ​​PC on October 25. In the game, you play as Batman’s sidekicks. Speaking of What If…?, one of the episodes took us into a branch of the MCU multiverse dominated by the undead. That is expanding into a whole Marvel Zombies Animated Series on Disney Plus — but not until 2024.

Teen Wolf: The Movie Trailer

When the moon is full, Teen Wolf transforms from a movie and then to a TV show and then to a movie again. Streaming service Paramount Plus showed off a new movie trailer that reunites the cast of the 2011 TV show, including Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, and Tyler “Superman” Hoechlin. They appeared in 6 seasons of lycanthropic adventures loosely based on the 1980s Michael J. Fox movie, and now they’re adding shadow ninjas and more supernatural action.

National Treasure: Edge of History

There’s no Nicolas Cage in this Disney Plus TV reboot of the scavenger-hunting family adventure movies, but Harvey Keitel and Justin Bartha will appear. The teaser introduces Lisette Olivera as a new breed of tomb raider, sorry hunter of national treasures.

The new Predator movie was screened to the public at SDCC ahead of its August 5 streaming release on Hulu (in the US) and Disney Plus elsewhere.

Beavis and Butt-Head by Mike Judge

Streamer Paramount Plus also revealed a clip from a reboot of the giggling metalheads who defined the ’90s era, Beavis and Butt-Head, premiering August 4.

Amazon Prime Video has renewed fantasy series the wheel of time, based on the books by Robert Jordan, for a third season before the second season has even begun airing. Amazon also announced a series of shorts to precede season 2.

SDCC visitors can see the costumes from the next Disney Plus Star Wars Andor seriesbroadcast on August 31.

Power Rangers $132 Dragonzord Reveal

Hasbro showed a higher range $132 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Dragonzord, which CNET released ahead of the Boom Studios panel on Thursday. As part of Hasbro’s Ascension Project Zord line, this Dragonzord can be combined with the previous Megazord from that line into a Super Megazord and battle mode.
