Meghan Markle’s half-brother has lashed out at her and Harry, saying they should “stay out of politics”.
Thomas Markle Jr, 56, also criticized Meghan for not contacting her father after he suffered a stroke in May that left him hospitalized for five days.
His father, Thomas Markle Sr, 77, lost his speech in the stroke and is still recovering.
He made his first public appearance since in an exclusive video on GB News when host Dan Wooton interviewed Thomas Jr.
Thomas Jr was optimistic about his father’s condition, saying he was making good progress in regaining his speech.
He said: ‘Dad is doing amazing. There is a lot of work to be done, but each day is just another milestone in the progression… in the right direction, which is the ultimate recovery in everything. He is doing fantastic.
However, when asked if half-sister Meghan had been in contact about their father’s condition, Thomas Jr said: “Not at all, nothing at all.” Absolute zero.

Thomas Jr said Harry and Meghan should “stick to rescuing chickens at Motecito and stay out of politics.”
‘What can you expect at this point? She didn’t call for the first heart attack or stroke, why would she call her now?
“Obviously they’re just doing other things, other things that they consider to be necessarily more important than their father.”
“It’s a mystery, it continually bothers him, but he gets over it.”
Harry and Meghan are now living in their £11million mansion in Montecito, California, since stepping down from royal duties in 2020.
Thomas Jr. poked fun at Harry’s sweeping Nelson Mandela Day speech at the United Nations in which he discussed climate change, the Roe v Wade annulment in the US, and the invasion of Ukraine.
Thomas Jr said: “You will go to a memorial for Mandela at the UN building, which is an open invitation to anyone in the general public, and then you will start talking about world peace and politics, which has nothing to do with with nothing there at the time.”
“The Sussexes must stay to rescue chickens in Motecito and stay out of politics.”
In his first appearance since his stroke, Meghan Markle’s father thanked the British public for their support.
In the video, Markle can be seen sitting at a table overlooking a windy beach. He is holding a whiteboard and a pen, holding up the sign to the camera.
The sign reads: “Hello Dan, thank you and the British people for all the best wishes and goodwill.”
The retired Hollywood lighting director suffered a stroke on May 23 and spent five days in the hospital.
He fell while shopping and had to be helped to his feet only a few days before he was hospitalized.
After being released, he said: ‘I feel enormously grateful and I know how lucky I am to be alive.
I want to thank everyone, especially the wonderful doctors and nurses who saved my life. they are angels
‘I have been deeply moved by the messages of love I have received from all over the world. People have been so kind. I can’t speak at the moment, but I’m working hard and I’ll thank people properly when I can.’
Markle had planned to fly to the UK in June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, but the stroke, which left him slurred with speech, ruined the trip.

Thomas Markle was rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke: he was hospitalized for five days and lost his speech
Writing on a whiteboard with a marker pen at the time, he said: ‘I wanted to come and pay my respects to the Queen. I wish you a happy Jubilee and many more years to come.’
The severe stroke was caused by a blood clot in the right side of Markle’s brain.
He was rushed to a hospital near his home in Rosarito, Mexico, before being taken by ambulance to the US border, where an ambulance was waiting to transport him to a hospital in San Diego, California.
He has been in an intensive care ward all week and has made what a doctor told him was “remarkable progress.”
Coming out of the California hospital, he was able to speak a few words, but faces what he calls “an uphill battle” to regain his ability to speak.
“I have a lot of hard work to do and I will do it,” he wrote. ‘I want to get well. I am so lucky to have had such incredible care and love. Thank you all.’
Markle was cared for by his 56-year-old son, Thomas Jr., who drove 11 hours overnight to be with his grieving father.
“I was visiting my son and his family in Oregon when I got the call,” Thomas Jr said at the time.
I will be here for Dad and will do whatever it takes to help him on his road to recovery. It’s been a terrible shock for everyone, but Dad is a strong man and he’s determined to get back on his feet.
‘He has already started working with a speech therapist and is making great progress. We have received hundreds of messages of support for him from people all over the world.
‘We are so grateful for the outpouring of love for Dad. I will be here for him as long as it takes.
Markle’s daughter Samantha has previously said she may need a year of therapy to regain her speech after suffering a stroke.
His family had been concerned about his high blood pressure for some time before he got sick, causing him to lose even the ability to tell the paramedics what was wrong.
The 77-year-old man had to write his symptoms on a piece of paper.
Markle was forced to miss her daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 after she suffered two heart attacks just days before.
