KERRY KING’s new band is ‘crushing’ and ‘on par with SLAYER’

The first music of King Kerry‘s new band sounds “stunning” and is “on par with ASSASSIN”, according to an American radio DJ who previewed the project.

Nikki Blakkwho pioneered the San Francisco Bay Area rock radio station 107.7 The Bonelistened to most of the songs that will appear on the debut album of Kingnew group of during your visit Kerry and his wife Ayesha at his home in New York City earlier this week.

On Friday (July 29), Nikki took her Facebook page to share a photo of her with the couple, and included the following message: “I heard the new #KerryKing songs last night and they are AWESOME. The world hasn’t been the same without ASSASSIN But, now I’m looking forward to 2023… and yes, I know who’s in the band, but NO, I won’t tell you. I am sorry blabbermouth.net #AboutLastNight #Slayer #NotSlayer #Metal.”

When some of his members asked him for more details about the music Facebook followers, Nikki he added in the comments: “Sounds great! Loved everything. Not a clunker in the group! I think I listened to 8 or 9 songs.”

After one of her Facebook friends thought that late ASSASSIN guitarist Jeff Hanneman wrote the best songs of the group “that will never be surpassed by Kerry‘s new band” and that original ASSASSIN drums david lombard is “the greatest thrash metal drummer of all time”, implying that Lombardthe replacement, Paul Bostaphhe is an inferior musician, black countered with: “Jeff they wrote many of their best songs, but not all of them. Not to mention that many were written by King/Hannemann together.” He added, “I won’t have the Lombard/Bostaph argument, because they’re both killer drummers, but they couldn’t be more different in style, for 2 guys who played the same songs. Personally, I’m #TeamBostaph, but it’s purely subjective. Finally, Kerry was a major contributor to the ASSASSIN sound and towards the end, he orchestrated almost everything, so anything he does will be on par with ASSASSIN.”

Earlier this month, Kerry I talk to metal hammer magazine about his post-ASSASSIN project, saying that “it will not be dragging [his] feet a lot more” when it comes to getting back on the road.

Almost two years after he revealed that he had more than two albums of music written for his new band, King stated about the direction of the new material: “You know me, so you know what it’s going to sound like. I played this new song for a friend and said, ‘If there’s anything I’ve written in the last few years that sounds like ASSASSIN, it is this.’ And he said, ‘That sounds like you could have gotten it out of any ASSASSIN Registration.’ I actually did that riff backstage at a ASSASSIN to show. We were walking to the stage and I took out my phone and recorded it so I wouldn’t forget.”

Weather King was reluctant to reveal the rest of the line-up of his new band, confirmed the participation of Bostaph.

“We just started rehearsing and the only person I can give away is Pablo because i got it from ASSASSIN and we worked really well together,” the 58-year-old guitarist said. “We didn’t start rehearsing until the end of March, and that was the first time since last ASSASSIN show end of 2019 that me and Pablo they finally entered a room together.”

King He went on to say that he hopes his new band will start out playing “much smaller” venues than ASSASSIN he made at the end of his four-decade career.

“If it had been up to me, I would have been out in 2020,” he said. “But this thing called a pandemic screwed everything up for everyone. You know, I waited for that, because it had to run its course. I didn’t want to be the guinea pig; I didn’t want to learn touring.” I’ve fulfilled my obligations, I don’t want to have to prove myself again.

“Have I been dragging my feet? Yes, because I wanted this [pandemic] shit to fix. I won’t be dragging my feet much longer.”

ASSASSIN played the final show of his farewell tour in November 2019 at the Forum in Los Angeles. One day later, King Ayesha he said that “there’s not a chance in hell” that the thrash metal icons would reunite for more live appearances. In August 2020, she once again ruled out the possibility that her husband and bassist/vocalist tom araya Sharing the stage never again under the ASSASSIN flag.

After Ayesha shared three photos of Kerry holding her cat in the form of a slideshow Instagram post, one fan wrote: “No ThomasNope Killer Kerry. Stop thinking ASSASSIN without @tomarayaofficial.” Ayesha then replied: “don’t worry, they will never be ASSASSIN again! You can rest easy.”

that same month, Bostaph confirmed that he is involved in a new project headed by Kerry. Pablo told Australia riff team that the new band will “sound like ASSASSIN without it being ASSASSIN – but not intentionally. I mean, KerryHe has been writing songs in ASSASSIN his whole career, and he has a style,” he explained. “And that style, as a songwriter, you just don’t change your style because your band is finished… So all I can say is if you like heavy music and you like ASSASSINyou’ll like this.”

Just a few days before Kerry saying dean guitars that he had many musical ideas for his next project. “I’ve been very, very lucky with riffs in 2020,” she said. “Maybe because I can’t go anywhere, I don’t know, but the riffs certainly haven’t been a problem. And looking to the future, what that means to me is that I will be able to choose the best things. And it’s a good thing. I have more than two music albums, but to be able to review that and choose the best 11 or 12 [songs]… That first record should be smoking.”

When ASSASSIN first announced that she would be embarking on her final tour in January 2018, Ayesha she assured fans that they would “always get music” from her husband.

King has said in previous interviews that his post-ASSASSIN The musical endeavors wouldn’t be too different from the sound fans have grown accustomed to hearing from him.

“If someone resigns, I will not walk with a ASSASSIN,” he said AZCentral.com in 2010. “But my next band would sound like ASSASSINThat’s all I know.”

ASSASSIN‘s final world tour kicked off on May 10, 2018 with the band intending to play as many venues as possible, to make it easy for fans to see one last one. ASSASSIN show up and say goodbye. By the time the 18-month journey at the Forum ended, the band had completed seven legs of the tour plus a number of major one-off summer festivals, performing over 140 shows in 30 countries and 40 US states.
