Indica Bioscience has been associated with Evonik develop and expand precision bird monitoring solutions through the ScreenFloX service. The partnership aims to drive innovation in pathogen monitoring, disease prevention and animal welfare for veterinary and animal production customers. The ScreenFloX service combines Indical’s veterinary diagnostic capabilities with Evonik’s Precision Livestock portfolio to provide analysis of a flock’s pathogenic status and greater control over any required actions.

Broederij de Hatchery Verbeek installs the second Seleggt machine

Aviagen partners with PAACO to enrich wellness auditor training

Aviagen is collaborating with the Professional Animal Auditors Certification Organization (PAACO) on a project to help strengthen animal welfare and auditing. The project involves the creation of a series of videos with animal welfare experts from Aviagen. These videos will be used as part of a continuing education program for PAACO-certified auditors, intended to help them deepen their understanding of poultry farming and the role animal welfare plays.

EuroTier 2022 prepares for the event in November

Around 1,600 exhibitors from 55 countries are expected at this year’s fair. EuroTier The 2022 trade show will take place from November 15 to 18 in Hannover, Germany. The event will occupy 13 pavilions and some 240,000 square meters. The technical program focuses on ‘Transforming Animal Husbandry’, a portion of which will take place as digital events, starting in October.

Microalgae to improve animal nutrition

astarreal has launched Novasta EB15, which provides natural astaxanthin encapsulated in hydrogenated rapeseed oil for animal nutrition. The product is a pure seaweed meal derived from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis that, in addition to natural astaxanthin, contains proteins, carbohydrates, and essential fatty acids, as well as other carotenoids, including lutein, beta-carotene, and canthaxanthin.

Noble Foods Organic Brand Certified Carbon Neutral

The fastest growing brand in the noble foods briefcase, purely organic, has become the first organic egg brand in the UK to be certified Carbon Neutral by the Carbon Trust. During the approval of the year-long project, The Carbon Trust assessed the CO2 emissions produced on each of the 13 purely organic farms, including their entire supply chain, from raising pullets to eliminating pulp packaging by the consumer. Each farm was assigned a unique carbon footprint that was cross-checked by measuring the consumption of various components, including feed, fuel and transportation. This combined carbon total has been offset by harnessing the use of wind power. In a company-wide effort to further reduce its carbon footprint, Noble Foods has also been testing alternative food sources, including pulses grown locally on UK farms.

Tyson Foods and based in Saudi Arabia Tanmiah Food Company have signed a strategic association agreement. The parties to the agreement are Tyson Foods and Agricultural Development Company (ADC) and Supreme Foods Processing Company (SFPC), wholly-owned subsidiaries of Tanmiah. ADC operates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. Through ADC, the Company produces and distributes fresh produce for sale to food service providers and retailers. SFPC produces a variety of value-added prepared chicken and beef products, with a distribution network spread throughout the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Jordan, among others. As part of the agreement, Tyson Foods and Tanmiah have committed to invest in expanding SFPC’s processing capabilities and will result in a doubling of Tanmiah’s production capacity in value-added products.

Zoetis expands its poultry portfolio

Zoetis has expanded its poultry vaccine portfolio with the introduction of Poulvac Procerta HVT-IBD-ND, a recombinant vector vaccine that provides early protection against Marek’s, infectious bursalitis and Newcastle disease viruses with 1 dose. The backbone of the new trivalent vaccine is the avirulent herpesvirus of turkeys (HVT), which replicates in chickens and is reported to be a safe and effective vector for delivering major avian antigens.
