The Eagles have announced the following changes to the coaching staff on the first day of training camp:

denard wilson added the title and defensive pass game coordinator responsibilities during the 2022 offseason after originally joining the Eagles as defensive backs coach in 2021. In his first season with the Eagles, Wilson supported a defense that allowed the fifth fewest explosive plays (117), eighth-fewest passing yards per attempt (6.8), and 10th-fewest total yards per game (328.8) in the NFL. Wilson coached the defensive backs for the New York Jets from 2017-2020, including two years as passing game coordinator (2019-20). He played a major role in developing safety Jamal Adams, leading him to All-Pro and Pro Bowl accolades after the 2018-19 seasons. From 2015 to 2016, Wilson coached the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams defensive backs. He originally entered the NFL coaching ranks as a defensive quality control coach (2012-14) with St. Louis following a four-year stint (2008-11) as a professional scout with the Chicago Bears. Wilson was a team captain and starter for three years as a defensive back at Maryland, earning All-ACC honors in 2004. Following his college career, Washington signed Wilson as an undrafted rookie. A native of Upper Marlboro, MD, Wilson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from Maryland in 2004. He and his wife, Taihitia, have a daughter, Riley, and a son, Reece.
Jeremiah Washburn He has more than two decades of experience as an NFL coach and scout. He enters his fourth year overall with Philadelphia and first as the team’s defensive ends/outside linebackers coach. He previously served as a senior defensive assistant from 2020-21. In 2021, Washburn helped set up an Eagles defense that allowed the 9th-fewest rushing yards per game (107.9) and 10th-fewest total yards per game (328.8) in the NFL. Additionally, the defensive line featured two Pro Bowlers for the first time in defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and defensive end Josh Sweat. Washburn originally joined the Philadelphia staff as an advanced project coordinator during the 2019 offseason. Prior to his time with the Eagles, Washburn served as offensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins in 2018. He also spent the 2017 campaign as offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears after working as assistant offensive line coach for the Dolphins in 2016. Washburn originally began his coaching career in the NFL with the Detroit Lions as offensive line coach (2013-15) and assistant coach offensive lineman (2009-12). From 2003 to 2008, Washburn was an area scout (2005 to 2008) and player staff assistant (2003 to 2004) for the Baltimore Ravens. He was also a football operations assistant for the Carolina Panthers in 2002. A native of Shelby, NC, Washburn played guard at Arkansas and worked at his alma mater as a graduate assistant (2000-01). Washburn is married to his wife, Susan. The couple have two daughters, Ally and Megan, and a son, Drew.
alex tanney was named assistant quarterbacks/offensive assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 offseason. Former NFL quarterback, originally joined the team as offensive quality control coach in 2021 after returning from his career as a nine-year player (2012-20). In his first season as coach, Tanney supported an offense that led the league with team records in both rushing yards (2,715) and rushing touchdowns (25). Philadelphia also ranked fourth in third down percentage (franchise record 45.7 percent) and allowed the fifth fewest giveaways (16). Tanney served as a backup quarterback throughout his playing career. After originally entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs (2012), Tanney also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys (2013), Cleveland Browns (2013), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2014), Tennessee Titans ( 2014-15). , 2015-17), Buffalo Bills (2015), Indianapolis Colts (2015) and New York Giants (2018-20). A native of Lexington, IL, Tanney graduated from Monmouth with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics. His two older brothers, Matt and Mitch, are also in the sports industry. Matt is the Director of Athletics at Wabash College (IN) and Mitch previously served as the Director of Analytics for the Denver Broncos. Tanney and his wife, Rebecca, have three sons: Gunnar, Wyatt, and Barrett.
