David LeeRoth has released a new solo song titled “Nothing could have stopped us then anyway”. the escort Youtube video of the track, with a photo of the classic formation of VAN HALENabout whom the song was apparently written, you can see below.
back in 2020, Roth included five previously unreleased songs The Roth Projectan online comic narrated by the legendary VAN HALEN singer, with music by John 5 on guitar and bass, Greg Bissonette on drums, Brett Tuggle on keyboards and luis conte on percussion tracks “Giddy Up!”, “Somewhere over the Rainbow Bar and Grill”, “crocodile pants”, “Lo-Rez Sunset” Y “Send Bullet” were recorded almost a decade ago in Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, Calif.
Asked in a recent interview with darren paltrowitz β host of the “Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz” β if you receive a “notice” every time one of the unreleased songs on your Roth sessions is officially available, John 5 said, “I don’t get a notice, which is funny. I only find out in loudmouth or something. But there’s a song that I can’t wait dave release. Is named ‘Nothing could have stopped us’ and it’s about VAN HALEN. It’s my favorite song I’ve ever done with daveforks handsome. I don’t know why she isn’t releasing it yet. And I can’t wait for people to hear that. because it’s about VAN HALEN. it’s just absolutely wonderful. I’m really looking forward to releasing it.”
John 5 went on to talk about the recording sessions of the unreleased Roth record, saying, “We had a great time. We had a lot of fun, we laughed a lot, we had a lot of fun. I’m so happy I got that good vibe working with dave that we can jump into the studio at any time and play some songs. And I’m very lucky because not many people have the opportunity to do that with dave.
He added: “We were all together there, I remember we were all together there. And it was. We were all doing it together, like old times, and he wanted to do it that way.” . And it really was a lot of fun. We had a lot of fun doing it. And it’s one of my best memories.”
In August 2021, John 5 saying AL.com than the rest of the unpublished Roth album follows the same line as the songs that have come out, which have a singer-songwriter sound. “[Dave] I wanted to do this kind of stuff more than California sessions,” the guitarist explained. So it’s that kind of atmosphere. But there are a lot of multiple tracks and different acoustic parts that work together. It’s a bit orchestrated, if you will.”
John 5 got his first big break playing in Rothsolo album by , “DLR Gang”before landing seasons with Marilyn Manson and now Rob Zombie. His last sessions with the iconic VAN HALEN leader apparently took place at least eight years ago, with John 5 revealing a snippet of the album during an interview with masters of shredding in May 2019.
Three years ago, Roth was asked by Meltdown from the Detroit radio station Write if your LP with John 5 will be available at some point. He replied, “It will. There’s been a review of things, and I can start making real plans and start marching into the future. And of course you’ll start hearing that stuff. This is stuff that we wrote in various ways for me alone and for VAN HALENand it’s a great bank of things”.
Rothwho was promoting his Las Vegas residency at the time, offered no possible time frame for the record’s release, explaining that his priority was to “hit the road first. Let’s see the band, let’s show off.” Let’s travel around the world.”
In 2015, John 5 saying Guitarist magazine that the sessions of his last Roth album were remarkably relaxed. “I’d just go over to his house and write these songs with him, and he’d say, ‘Let’s go to the studio.'” John 5 explained. “So he would go to henson study and record these songs. They came outβ¦ They are so good. they are so good and we have Gregg Bissonette I played drums and I played bass, and they’re really great songs.”
The guitarist said RothThe vocals on the album sound like nothing you’ve ever heard. It’s old VAN HALEN – sounds like ‘Could this be magic?’ or something like that. It’s just that sound, that tone.”
In a 2014 interview, John 5 described the LP as “11 of the best songs you’ll ever hear, and it’s just me and daveand we had Gregg Bissonette play drums on it. And it’s amazing,β he said. “You know, just great, great songs.”
