BMTC Shares Photos Of Buff Recruits Doing Pull-Ups And Workouts With Weights
In a sense, the SAF Basic Military Training (BMT) in Pulau Tekong is almost like a physical transformation journey, as recruits who go through the arduous training program tend to gain muscle mass and look much fitter than before.
While this may be common knowledge, some people still expressed surprise at recent photos of recruits exercising as part of their BMT. Two recruits, in particular, got the most reactions, perhaps because they seemed to have been through Avengers training camp.

Trying to figure out the secret formula behind his ripped physique, some netizens even wondered if the recruits ate any special food at BMTC.
Amateur recruits make pull-ups look like a walk in the park
On Friday (July 22), a netizen aware a compilation of images on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group, showing SAF recruits exercising in numerous poses.
The images that drew the most attention were those of two bulky recruits trying to do push-ups.
The pull-up bar can be overwhelming for some of us, but this recruit seemed to approach it with a smile, as he flexed his chest and abs.
Chiseled physique aside, his calm facial expression makes the pull-up exercise look like a walk in the park.
Another recruit had a similarly cheery demeanor while doing pull-ups, which is a far cry from the pained expression some of us might have when attempting the exercise.
A Facebook user he eventually joked that maybe the recruit was holding the bar instead of pulling himself up.
Other recruits perform exercises with weights and flex biceps
While pull-ups are the best way to show off your physique in all its glory, that wasn’t all the recruits did.
A group of them also performed weight-bearing exercises, lifting fairly heavy-looking weights with both hands.
Although the gear looks pretty heavy, we won’t blame you if your eyes are glued to the recruits’ weapons.
Of course, getting in shape isn’t just about building arm strength – some recruits were seen doing bodyweight exercises, which might be what gave them their six packs, like this young man below:
Now the rest of us are starting to wonder if we can sign up just to achieve our fitness goals.
Netizens wonder what’s in the recruits’ food.
the facebook post Introducing Amateur Recruits has garnered nearly 400 shares at the time of this writing, with many users sharing their thoughts in the comments.
The comment that took the cake was from the OP, who wondered what SAF has been feeding their soldiers lately.
Meanwhile, this netizen speculated that the featured recruits must have been quite enthusiastic to begin with.
Some also noted that such recruits might not be representative of the entire cohort.
In fact, the images shared were taken from the Facebook page of the Basic Military Training Center (BMTC), which often offers the public glimpses of the training of NS recruits.

Hope recruits leave BMT with meaningful friendships along with chiseled physiques
BMT helps prepare recruits for their two-year stint as soldiers, during which they will be tasked with protecting Singapore.
For combat-fit individuals, their tasks may require a certain level of fitness, for which we’re sure BMT training will help.
Aside from the physical, we hope that recruits enjoy their time at BMT and form meaningful and lasting relationships with their fellow Soldiers.
